Sharon Ho

PhD Candidate

BOptom (Hons)

Sharon graduated with Honours from UNSW in 2017, after which she spent 3 years working at an independent optometric practice in Dubbo, NSW. During this time, she played an active role in public health care, servicing the local Indigenous communities and outreach clinics. Her experience in regional Australia has led to a keen interest in chronic eye conditions, particularly diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration and glaucoma.

Sharon is excited to work with Professor Michael Kalloniatis and Dr Angelica Ly on a PhD titled “The efficacy and implementation of primary care clinical decision support tools in retinal disease” which will explore artificial intelligence in diagnostic and referral analytics as well as in decision support.
